about

out of all my albums that i have made this is propably my favorite... not really because of the songs on it but maybe more because it captures how i was feeling at the the time 100%... kinda freaked out... kinda f@#ked up... missing people i loved intensely... but happy to be alive no matter how s@#t things were and happy to be creating art and music... the first two albums were recorded on a zero budget... the budget on this record stretched to include a 75 quid guitar (statocaster copy, red like hank marvins) from cash converters aswell as a 50 quid digital effects rack... both were left behind when i left england, like most of my gear from that time, it all somehow got lost or went to good homes... but i was really enjoying playing electric guitar and having some noise behind some of the tunes... smoke, nemett and my saftey net/my spiders web, in my opinion, are three of my best recordings... i was just trying to make as much noise as possible on the four tracks i had free... around this time i played a few live shows so i was getting slightly confident... but then i destroyed that growing confidence when had my 'syd barrett' moment in a packed north london pub when i got called up to play by some drunk friends while i was at the peak of highly trippy trip... i got up and tried to play a couple of songs but i kept stopping a few seconds into each song and then i would ramble into the microphone about something that nobody else could understand... 'no one, i think, is in my tree' wrote john lennon... around this time i couldn't have agreed more...
